Barbara went for her first swim in the sea. 100 meters from the shore she found a bee drifting in the water. Lucky bee.
Biggie came home and found a little baby chicken in a desperate situation.
We are happy to be able to help out. Just be sure to cross our path in the right moment…..

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009
Would you believe that the young couple was vacationing in Thailand when the mother of the young woman lost their beloved pup (see recent post about Marley? And that their holiday was spoiled? That they could not change their ticket and fly back earlier? That they returned 2 days ago and searched all the island? Would you believe that the young man is the son of the woman who called 2 days ago about pup Bubulina, and the brother of the one who found the sad little wounded female last spring? You better believe it!! This family loves animals and we wish there were many more like them….

Thursday, March 19th, 2009
A considerable number of unwanted puppies have been deposited on the doorsteps of Alkioni ever since the place opened. The 3 sweet little bears are the latest example. Animal lover Christoph has taken them in, feeding them with the bottle until they can eat. We wish that people would sterilize their females instead of producing unwanted offspring endlessly!

Biggie’s neighbour came looking for her in the morning. 2 very hungry dogs had shown up near his chicken pen. One of them, still with a string on his neck, had been caught in a bush. He seemed unfriendly, was barking. Biggie approached him. The poor dog was very skinny and just frightened. He is now staying at Biggies. The second dog, a terrified puppy, is still on the loose. Biggie hopes that she can catch it before the neigbours will shoot it.
