A friendly female was hanging around some garbage bins for the past days. Katerina, who always has an eye open for strays and animals in need, called Barbara. Barbara collected the young dog and took her home.

Stray female, a little frightened
Friday, November 28th, 2008NOP – Not Only Puppies
Friday, November 28th, 2008
When we say NOP, we don’t really mean the Navtiko Omilo, strictly speaking. It’s more like the garbage place just behind it. This is where the dogs are dumped. But then they go to NOP, because they hear voices from there. And then the NOP-People call PAWS. Today, a big old Rottweiler Lady is in the area. Who the hell dumped her?
Male dog found in Aspro Chorio
Thursday, November 27th, 2008This nice looking male dog showed up at the Honda-Mitsubishi workshop in Aspro Chorio yesterday. He was tied up for the safety of the small animals around the place… who knows what could have happened. He is wearing a collar and a flea collar. Who has lost him? The people who called were expecting us to get the dog today – what we did. As we could not provide him with an appropriate space, he is staying with an animal friend for the next days until we can find a better solution for him or until his owners have stepped forward. Everybody on this island seems to take our work for granted. Why does the offical Paros not acknowledge that and contribute?
Close to 50 animals

Biggie and Barbara are taking care of 48 animals (as of today), not counting their own. They are absolutely overwhelmed with the workload and responsibilty. This is just not right. One dog, the mother of the little family found a few days ago in Glyfa, went to a foster home for the next weeks, hopefully, (if all goes well….) It would be nice if some more people would follow the example and foster a dog for some time to help us with the terrible burden.

Thursday, November 27th, 2008Little Kitty did not make it
Thursday, November 27th, 2008Yesterday the litte kitty died. Her last weeks at Barbaras were quite happy ones, food, a warm little basket, cuddling with Boney and Barbaras sister. But the injuries to her backside were more serious than expected. She could not go to the toilet and her belly got bigger and harder day by day. In the end, there was only the choice between waiting for a slow and painful end or helping the little one go without pain. Not a happy birthday morning for Barbara….
