StarvedFamilyA nice Dog Family was found abandoned in the middle of nowhere,  a mother with her 6 Puppies. Biggie went straight away to pick them up, they were all starving and 2 Puppies were already very weak. The whole group is resting in Biggies spare room for the moment.

Mykonos, Santorini

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

On Wednesday, 17 September, around 20 dogs and a cat from Paros, Mykonos and Santorini flew to their families in Germany. Photo 1 shows the departure of 3 of them from Paros, thanks to Lisa and Christina.

The next photo shows a family from Munich with a small infant who transported empty boxes for us on the way from Munich to Santorini and on their way back did not hesitate and helped 2 small dogs and 3 large ones (!) to fly to their happy future! Thank you very much Tanja, Sylvio and little Timo for your help!

Quick one (Dalli Dali…)!

Friday, September 12th, 2008

A family from Germany met Barbara by chance and when asked, if they could transport a rehomed pup to Germany, agreed spontaneously, even though they were leaving the island only hours later.

Barbara had to move fast to get everything organized so quickly. The first photo shows the family who took care of the puppy in Paros and his travel companions can be seen on the second picture. Farewell little Dali!

A young female Epagnel Breton had sought refuge with a Greek family in Vounali recently. She came to stay at BarBigs and got a chance to travel with a family from Germany who were vacationing here with their 2 dogs. She has already found a home in Germany!

Santorini-Munich One-Way

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

A family of four and a couple had contacted us to transport animals to Munich. Very nice people and very lucky dogs! See more about where our dogs go here. One week earlier, more dogs had been able to fly to their families with another couple.

Farewell to 8 Doggies, Welcome to 1

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

8 dogs were allowed to leave for their new homes and have arrived there already. One of our dog escorts found a little male dog at the Santorini airport and begged Barbara to take him home with her so he could get a chance to be adopted by a family as well.

Oh those nights on the ferry!

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Isn’t it just so romantic… spend a night on a ferry in the Aegean, with a sleeping bag, the stars sparkling above. Barbara took 8 dogs to Santorini, they had been adopted and travelled to Germany to spend their future happily with their new families. Volunteers, please step forward!

Bon Voyage…. again!

Michael and Julika, Doris and Daniela: thank you for helping all of these puppies (the photo of the pups is taken in the  ‘dog hostel’ where they stayed overnight, thank you Majda!) get to their new homes safely today!

Bon Voyage!

Travelling with Boxes

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

00-box.jpg 0-box1.jpg 0-box-3.jpg Travelling with dogs seems too difficult to you? How about taking some boxes back from Germany on your way to Paros? This month Barbara brought 90kg of boxes (and a regular suitcase…) when she came home from Germany. Can they fit in a Taxi? Yes, if you have a good driver. Unfortunately Barbara made a mistake and had him drop her at the wrong ferry – quite a challenge to get these piles from point A to point B in Piraeus.
