Naoussa-Kolimbithres – Νάουσα – Κολυμπήθρες

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Dimitris and Droppy happily unitedWhen Barbara was on her way home from Naoussa on July 17th, she noticed a young dog following some tourists. Later on she learned that the pup had frequented Anemos Taverna in Kolimbithres in the last weeks. The young dog spent 4 days at Biggies shelter. Today we learned that the pup belongs to Dimitris Kourtellis, and contacted him. He came to pick up his dog tonight and we were all very happy!

Marley – Dukas: Happy End!!!!

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

Marley-DukasWould you believe that the young couple was vacationing in Thailand when the mother of the young woman lost their beloved pup (see recent post about Marley? And that their holiday was spoiled? That they could not change their ticket and fly back earlier? That they returned 2 days ago and searched all the island? Would you believe that the young man is the son of the woman who called 2 days ago about pup Bubulina, and the brother of the one who found the sad little wounded female last spring? You better believe it!! This family loves animals and we wish there were many more like them….

Cats growing in trees?

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

We got a phone call about a large dog that had shown up at a family home and was chasing all their cats around. They had tied up the dog and wanted us to pick it up. The distressed owners who had lost the male asked the Vet and were given Barbaras phone number. The dog and his family were happy about their reunion the same night.

Lucky with Ardy

Lucky still in Paros
Lucky still in Paros

Little Lucky was a newborn throwaway puppy and was found by a Diving Teacher in Naoussa. He was soon taken in by PAWS member Ardy, who raised him with the bottle. He has developped to be a nice and extremely intelligent dog and lives in a Hotel specialized in Literature. If he does not write an autobiography soon, then his owner will write up his story. We cannot wait to read it!

Berta stayed at a foster home for a month

Berta stayed at a foster home for a month

Barbara was called up on a hot day in June about a female shepherd that had shown up a few days earlier at a home in Kamares. The dog was unwanted there and they had tied her up outside, with barely enough shade for the dog. Barbara took her home, posted photos of Berta in Paroikia, hoping that her owners would call. After 2 months at BarBigs she travelled to Municht to find a fine home. These are the news from Berta….

Aliti became Zen

Aliti became Zen

Alitis, or Sir Toby, as another friend called him, had been living on the streets of Paroikia for around 4 years. Not so long ago, he decided to run after a group of Quads that drove through his territory in Livadia and never stopped running till way out of town, almost in Punda, when Ilan decided to let him hop on. ever since, they have been inseparable. With his serenity and impeccable behaviour, Aliti soon earned the name ‘Zen’. He has now a passport and will soon travel to his new home. Farewell, we are happy with you!

Lost and Found

Friday, July 25th, 2008

On Friday, 18.7. Vet A. Lambrou found 2 dogs near his shop that almost caused a car accident. He called Barbara, who went to pick them up. It seemed most likely that they had owners. After 5 days they were picked up by the happy owners.
